About Ikhaya
Ikhaya means home. We build digital programmes that help families and communities gather well, whether the occasion is a funeral, an unveiling, a wedding or a celebration.
Who we are
Ikhaya is a product of Rovaya Group (Pty) Ltd, trading as Ikhaya Events & Legacy — a small South African team that has spent years helping families plan funerals, unveilings and celebrations. We built Ikhaya after watching too many families struggle to share the details of a service with relatives scattered across the country, and after seeing how easily that confusion can be used to misdirect contributions. Our aim is simple: give a host a dignified, trustworthy page that a grieving or joyful family can share in a single message, and give guests the confidence to know they are looking at the real thing.
We are not a funeral parlour, a bank or a payment processor. We do not sell insurance or caskets. We provide the digital programme and the tools around it, and we stay out of the way of the people who matter most.
Ikhaya Events & Legacy is a Rovaya Group company. Rovaya Group (Pty) Ltd is the South African company that owns and operates Ikhaya, and it is the legal entity behind every programme, invitation and event page published here. When you deal with Ikhaya, you are dealing with Rovaya Group.
What we believe
Dignity first: a funeral programme should look as considered as the person it honours, and it should never be cluttered with advertising. Privacy by default: we show the minimum, we collect the minimum, and we never sell your information. Trust through clarity: we explain what we do in plain language and we make it easy to reach a human. And fairness: the price of a programme should not depend on how many people love the person being remembered.
Contact and support
Email us at [email protected], message us on WhatsApp at +27 71 553 1005, or phone +27 71 122 7954. We answer email and WhatsApp during business hours and aim to reply within one working day. For anything urgent on the day of an event, use WhatsApp and say so in your first line. Our information officer can be reached at the same email address for any privacy request.
Custom web address and branding
Every programme already has a clean Ikhaya link, such as ikhayahub.co.za/?e=your-programme, and a QR code that points to it. If you would like the programme to live at your own web address, such as programme.yourfamily.co.za, you can point a subdomain of a domain you control at Ikhaya and we will serve your programme there. Add a CNAME record for the subdomain that points to the Ikhaya host, tell us the subdomain and the programme slug, and we will confirm it and issue a certificate. This is included with the Legacy & Business package and available as a once-off add-on otherwise.
If you would like the Ikhaya mark removed from a programme so that it carries only your own family, church or business name, we can switch off the Ikhaya branding for that programme. The programme still runs on Ikhaya and still carries a small, honest footer line that says it is hosted by Ikhaya, because we believe guests deserve to know where a page they are asked to trust actually comes from. White-labelling beyond that footer is available on request for businesses that run many events.
Accessibility and languages
We build Ikhaya so that it works for people using a screen reader, a keyboard, or a phone in bright sunlight, and we test our colour contrast against the WCAG guidelines. The site and the programmes are available in English, isiZulu, isiXhosa and Afrikaans, and you can switch language at any time. If you find something that is hard to use, tell us and we will fix it.
How we keep Ikhaya safe
We keep bank details and payment secrets where the public cannot read them, protect every record with row-level security, limit how often sign-in can be attempted, and send security headers that stop the site being framed or loading scripts we did not approve. Our full approach is set out in our privacy policy, POPIA notice and safety page.
